Episode 226: A Feast For Crows, Chapter 3 (CERSEI)

Nouveau Cersei by ~Pojypojy via deviantART

It's our very first Cersei POV! Oh SNAP!

We get to see through the eyes of the madwoman herself, and Brendan is very excited to get to see what's happening in King's Landing after Tyrion's little escapade. Plus he finds it interesting that we're getting to understand a little bit more of Cersei's mindset and why she acts the way she does. It starts to make a little more sense why she thinks of herself the way she does, although it doesn't make it any less ridiculous.

Cersei is summoned to the Tower of the Hand because they've finally found Tywin's body, and she discovers that she isn't even close to the first person that they told about the murder. Kevan Lannister is there, along with Jaime, and Pycelle has already come and gone, and the guards...essentially, she's the last to know, and she's furious.

Also, the discovery of Shae's body throws Cersei for a serious loop. She doesn't want to believe that Tywin had touched a woman since her mother died, and seizes on the most ridiculous explanation ever. Cersei really only sees what she wants to see; she isn't actually stupid, but she is so determined to believe what she wants to believe that she shapes all of the evidence to fit those preconceived conclusions.

These chapters are going to be quite a ride. Buckle up!

  1. One dream sequence I can recall from the show is Bran and the 3 eyed crow.
