I love this illustration of Areo Hotah; he actually looks way hotter and younger than I had originally imagined. I wonder who they will cast for him in the show?
This chapter is more world-building and introductions of new characters, which we all know Brendan usually finds to be the least interesting parts of the books. He likes Dorne because of their more modern attitudes towards women, and I think he will find this part of the story interesting, but I think it's going to take a while for him to warm up to it.
And let's be honest, Areo isn't the most exciting POV character. He's sort of a blank slate, a lens through which we see what's happening in Dorne but not someone who has a lot of his own thoughts about what's happening. He doesn't seem to have much personality outside of his love for his wife, The Old Battleaxe (get it? heh).
That's okay, we'll get through this together, Brendan Kingston! Onward!

I love Dorne so much. Not only because the Sand Snakes are awesome, but because women are treated like human beings. They can even inherit! Crazy talk. I really love how bloodthirsty the Sand Snakes are though, and how they all have different ways they approach the problem.
