Hey everyone! We're back from our sojourn to see our respective families and are finally getting settled again. So sorry for how messed up everything has been, but we have a bunch of recordings done so you've got some listening pleasure in store this week!
This chapter, Jon helps to defend the wall yet again, proving his resourcefulness and his willingness to put aside personal pain and exhaustion for the sake of the group. He manages to keep the few men who are still atop the wal feeling like they've got something to fight for, and he's invaluable because of that.
And then these two assholes, Alliser and Janos, come in with their stupid faces and their bigotry, and decide that since they're older and don't like this kid, that everyone else must have been hoodwinked and they're the only ones who can see the truth. They throw Jon into an ice cell after an infuriating conversation in which they accuse him of still working with the wildlings (because that makes a lot of fucking sense) and insinuate that Maester Aemon is too old to see the truth and has lost his wits. Listen, busters, you can insult Jon, but I DRAW THE LINE at the blind old Maester.

ReplyDeletePoor Jon though. I can't imagine feeling so exhausted and putting everything you had into defending the wall and seeing your girlfriend die, and then being punished for following orders and saving the Wall. Janos Slynt and Alliser Thorne - I hate you.
