Episode 206: A Storm Of Swords, Chapter 65 (ARYA)

Sandor Clegan, by ~karniz via deviantART
Soooooo, yeah. Brendan has been spoiled about Arya not being dead by a couple of our so-called "friends" who love nothing better than to ruin everything and make me angry. So now we have a new rule; if someone mentions anything about ASOIAF, Brendan has to get up and leave and he isn't allowed to return until said person is chastised into silence. So mote it be.

So in this chapter we get to see the after-effects of Arya being there for the Red Wedding and witnessing the betrayal of the Freys. At first she refuses to believe that her mother is dead, until she has a wolf-dream and knows it's true. Once she has given up on the idea of going back to the Twins, she and Sandor try to find a place to belong, but he's too well-known and nobody wants to take them in because of the risk he brings.

Brendan is puzzled by Arya still being alive; he claims he doesn't see the point, and I have to remind him that he didn't see the point of her being killed, either. So what's going to happen with Sandor? What card does either of them have left to play? Where can they possibly go from here, besides Riverrun?

Poor Arya, she just keeps losing her family. I'm sorry that you got spoiled on her survival though!

  3. I'm with you Natasha - I wasn't even remotely fooled by Arya's "death." But, one of my friends totally was. I wonder what makes some of believers and some of us not...
