This illustration is one of the artist's most impressive, in my opinion. I love the lines and the non-traditional pose; most artists depict her holding fire to the front or sides, but behind her is not a position I often see. It's done so gracefully here, and yet there is still a real aura of power. Very nice.
This chapter, Davos is finally able to set his mind at rest concerning the safety of "the boy" Edric Storm. After hearing the news that Joffrey is dead, he manages to get enough of the "King's Men" together to spirit the boy away from the castle, because he knows that now Stannis is bound to believe Melisandre's prophecies.
Luckily Davos was right when he theorized that threats against Melisandre's life would definitely be on her radar, and that the key to successfully saving Edric was to keep her out of the plan altogether. She didn't see this coming, and Stannis is SUPER pissed, calling it treason and ready to execute him right then and there.
SO WHAT WILL HAPPEN???

I totally called what the note was.
ReplyDeleteI only say this because it was one of the few (I can count them on one hand) times I made a prediction about these books and was proved right. Which doesn't say much for my reading comprehension skills, I realise. :)
Totally didn't see the resolution coming though. Which says even less for my... anyway, another enjoyable show.
It's odd, even when the eps are short it never feels like we're being shortchanged; you guys pack a lot in and make every ep worthwhile.
(I apologise for the shameless brown-nosing. I'm still in the novelty phase of being up to date, and so actually able to comment. I'm sure it'll wear off)
I always forget just how much I like Davos, and then I read his chapters :) I really admire him saving Edric and then refusing to let Stannis forget that he wants to murder his nephew.
ReplyDeleteOk. First I want to say how much I've enjoyed listening to you guys. I heard about your podcast a while back on A Podcast of Ice and Fire (I believe). I started listening about a month ago and caught up and look forward to your podcast every day. So thanks for all the work.
ReplyDeleteBut please. It's pronounced RA-LOR. R'hllor is not Spanish. No reason to use an "eh-yeh". It's almost as bad who pronounce Brienne as as "Bri-een".
Anyway. Sorry for the rant. Everything else is awesome.
